Forest and Wood Products Australia (FWPA) is the industry’s services provider, investing in research and development (R&D) and providing research outcome information to the forest and wood products industry in Australia.

FWPA aims to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the Australian forest and wood products industry through innovation by investing in effective and relevant R&D. FWPA undertakes industry-level activities where a collective approach delivers more effective and valuable commercial outcomes than individual action.

Forest and Wood Products Australia’s operations ensure that the industry can anticipate and respond quickly to changing market circumstances. We deliver services that support the industry’s capacity as a major exporter and mainstay of regional communities in many parts of Australia.

FWPA’s R&D investments focus specifically on priority areas identified within the national forest and wood products industries where:

• the outputs of R&D will provide broad sectoral and/or cross sectoral industry benefits
• it is cost-effective for industry to co-invest in specific projects, thus forming partnerships and realising synergies.
