ARC Future Timber Hub Research Showcase

The Future Timber Hub is an Industrial Transformation Research Hub to Transform Future Tall Timber Buildings.

It is funded by the Australian Research Council and is Australia's leading timber research collaboration bringing together experts from industry, government, and academia who are committed to the future development of tall timber buildings in the Pacific region.
 
For an update on the research please register for 1 or more of the 5 in the series of free lunchtime webinars. The webinars are being held during the week 8 – 12 February from 12:00pm to 11:15pm AEST. 
 

Day 1 - The University of Queensland Structures & Architecture Showcase
Date: Monday, 8 February

  1. Prefabrication and digital fabrication strategies for large-scale timber construction
  2. Alternative uses for under-valued sawmill products in innovative timber structures

Day 3 - Griffith University Showcase

  1. Progressive collapse (robustness) resistance of tall timber frame buildings with CLT floors

Day 4 - University of Canterbury Showcase

  1. The behaviour of critical connections and core wall systems in tall timber buildings
  2. Resilient design of structural timber beam-to-column connections in fire condition

  1. A prototype hybrid Timber-FRP with enhanced fire and serviceability performance
  2. Exploring the self-extinguishment mechanism of engineered timber in full-scale compartment fires
