Modelling of business processes in the adaptation of microwave wood bending technology in the furniture industry - Summary

The CRC Wood Innovations has developed technology for the manufacture of furniture components involving the use of microwave softening of wood to enable bending it to a wide range of shapes.
The project considered case studies of “typical” furniture manufacturers currently using shaped wood components. This information was used to compare the efficiency and cost savings of existing curved component manufacturing methods versus microwave bending method.
